Iconic hotel to play a key role in the growth and success of Thailand’s MICE sector, following the launch of a new dedicated meetings floor with two ballrooms and a spectacular 22-meter-long LED screen
Nestled along the legendary Chao Phraya River, Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok unveils newly transformed MICE venues, creating the perfect setting for exceptional events
Bangkok, Thailand – Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok, the renowned hotel on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, will exhibit at the Asia Pacific Incentives & Meetings Event (AIME) for the first time next month, as it showcases its newly reimagined conference facilities and affirms its position as a leading destination for major international meetings and events.
Staged at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre in Australia from February 10-12, 2025, AIME is Asia Pacific’s largest and longest running business events exhibition, bringing together the industry’s leading MICE suppliers with a global community of top travel buyers. This year's three-day expo is expected to be attended by more than 4,000 delegates, with an estimated 20,000 meetings set to generate hundreds of millions of dollars of business. This makes it the ideal platform for Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok to connect with the region’s most respected meeting planners and reveal its world-class waterfront MICE facilities.
Delegates at AIME 2025 will be able to discover the hotel’s all-new meetings floor, which comprises 2,800 square meters of total floor space, all on the same level and overlooking the Chao Phraya, Bangkok’s “River of Kings”. The impressive Royal Orchid Ballroom can host up to 1,150 guests for grand gala gatherings, including conferences, weddings, and award ceremonies, and a spectacular 22-meter-long LED screen will illuminate every occasion. Alternatively, the Riverside Ballroom can cater for up to 320 delegates, or be divided into multiple smaller sections to meet the unique needs of each group, and 22 naturally-lit function rooms can host business meetings, briefings and breakouts for between 12 and 150 guests. Groups can check-in quickly and easily at the private lobby area, and the hotel’s waterfront terraces provide a scenic backdrop for glamorous photo shoots, cocktail receptions and social celebrations.
The spacious ballroom offers breathtaking views of the iconic Chao Phraya River, bathed in natural light
With 726 spacious rooms and suites, all with river views, Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok can accommodate large groups under one roof. A choice of culinary options includes Thara Thong, the authentic Thai restaurant, Giorgio’s Italian trattoria, Siam Yacht Club, the chic riverside restaurant, and Feast, the international dining destination, and guests have myriad ways to unwind with a tropical garden, resort-style pool, tennis court, jogging track, fitness center and Mandara Spa. A regular shuttle boat service transports guests to the BTS skytrain station or ICONSIAM, the luxury lifestyle complex, and Bangkok’s two airports – Suvarnabhumi (37km) and Don Mueang (28km) – are both easily accessible via the city’s elevated expressways.
The launch of these exceptional new facilities in the heart of Bangkok will play a pivotal role in the future of Thailand’s MICE sector. In a recent event staged in the Royal Orchid Ballroom, the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) revealed that the kingdom achieved a 43.5% increase in MICE travelers and a 41.3% jump in MICE revenue in 2024, as the sector's contribution to Thailand's GDP surged 68.3%. With overall visitor arrivals to Thailand set to reach an all-time-high of 40 million in 2025, the country’s MICE sector is set to grow from strength to strength.
Each unique venue space is designed to offer a one-of-a-kind experience, making every moment unforgettable and truly special.
“We are excited to be exhibiting at AIME for the first time this February. 2025 is set to be a transformational year in the rich history of our hotel, which has stood as an icon of Thai hospitality for more than 40 years. With the launch of our newly reimagined meetings floor in the heart of Bangkok’s vibrant waterfront district, Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok can now host major international conferences and events. We look forward to connecting with our esteemed travel trade partners and showcasing our industry-leading MICE facilities at AIME 2025,” said Mr. David Lance, General Manager, Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok.
At Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok, event planners can rest assured that their meeting is highly sustainable. The hotel has been certified by Green Key and the ASEAN MICE Venue Standards, and under Marriott Bonvoy’s new “Connect Responsibly” program, companies will be provided with a Meeting Impact Report to track their emissions, which can then be offset by purchasing carbon credits for a range of environmental projects in association with Marriott’s partner, South Pole.
At AIME 2025, Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok will be exhibiting on the Thailand Stand (E12), in collaboration with TCEB. To connect with the hotel at the event, please visit aime.com.au.
