Bangkok, Thailand – RMA Institute presents Photography Exhibition by Marcelo Von Schwartz Curated by Oya Aydin on 7th October 2017. The gallery is located at 238 Sukhumvit Soi 22, Soi Sainamthip 2, Klongtoey 10110.

Escape is a wish we all feel in some moment of our lives. As a subjective, personal feeling it looks like seeking for a subjective response. Here are some of my wishes, some of my feelings. The way I feel some places and their responses.

Away from illustration, the use of photography helps Von Schwartz to show non- existing spaces with objectivity, using this contradiction as an essential element in his art.

As space is a central topic in cultural theory today, though in most cases theory assumes Newtonian absolute space. Von Schwartz's works of imagination are in perspective with narrative architecture... Like Piranesi's works, they are "Imagination and Imaginery".

Through Escape, Von Schwartz explores photographic narrative to represent these impossible spaces, resuming a long tradition of visionary architects from Leonardo and Piranesi to the experiments of Archigram and Lebbeus Woods.

Von Schwartz's works also have an influence of Jorge Luis Borges narrative... As Borges said once, "The mind was dreaming but the world was its dream".
