“Timeless Thai” art exhibition, enticing offers and happy hours await this April
BANGKOK - The StandardX, Bangkok Phra Arthit, the edgy, art-inspired boutique hotel on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, is gearing up for a series of stylish Songkran celebrations this April. With two months of upbeat activities, cool drinks, great food, enticing offers and eye-catching art, all set against the backdrop of the “River of Kings,” every guest can enjoy an immersive urban adventure.
From April 1st, the hotel's 10 10 Art Space will stage “Timeless Thai” – a group art exhibition that reimagines traditional Thai art through a contemporary lens. Seven talented local artists will explore the enduring essence of Thainess in a range of distinct styles. For example, Artsaveworld presents bold Thai pop art that blends heritage with modernity, Patiphan Charoensuk creates works that are influenced by Thai history, and Patpixels combines 1990s pixel art with the Thai street scene. Sarawut Panhnu merges traditional Buddhist murals with pop culture, while Subannakrit Krikum crafts intricate Thai paintings on teak wood, and Tananan Jaisawang is a mixed media artist who is inspired by nearby Wat Arun. Finally, Tanawat Chanpimai offers a modern take on traditional Thai imagery that blending realism with imagination.
Nestled on historic Phra Arthit Road, a cultural avenue filled with authenticity and vivacity, the 10 10 Art Space is committed to showcasing diverse art forms and supporting artists from various generations, disciplines, and backgrounds through exhibitions, workshops, events, and discussions, plus an artist-in-residence program to incubate emerging talent. Open around-the-clock, it is a thriving social hub where creativity always shines.
The exhibition is free-to-enter, so all art lovers can drop in and immerse their senses in a world of art and imagination at any time from April 1st to May 31st. A grand opening reception on April 3rd (17:00-19:00 hrs) will also provide a unique opportunity to meet the artists and learn about their works.
